A 46-year-old prison inmate who was sentenced to death for the sex attack and slaying of a real-estate saleswoman in 1996 committed suicide Sunday, the Arizona Department of Corrections said.

Adams was convicted of first-degree murder, kidnapping, attempted sexual assault and second-degree burglary in the February 1996 killing of 22-year-old Michelle Cohen Anglin, who took Adams on a tour of a model home near Cave Creek Road and Union Hills Drive when he tried to sexually assault her and choked her to death.
