WELLINGTON Phoenix have pulled off one of the surprise coups of the pre-season by luring Socceroos defender Jade North back to the A-League as their Australian marquee player.
The 28-year old missed out on a place in Australia’s final World Cup squad but built his reputation as one of the league’s most dependable defenders during a brilliant spell with the Newcastle Jets and was a cornerstone of the club’s championship-winning year in 2007-08.
