A Phoenix, Arizona distributor of the popular acai berry weight-loss supplement has been shut down by the feds.
The Federal Trade Commission has halted the business and frozen the assets of Central Coast Nutraceuticals, alleging in a lawsuit the company scammed customers out of at least $30-million.
The FTC accuses the company of deceptively marketing AcaiPure as a “risk-free weight loss product,” when in reality it does not help with weight-loss.
