After racing to victory and the top of the points standings at the season-opening race in Pomona on Sunday, Top Fuel driver Spencer Massey celebrated by hoisting a Wally and an ice-cold Full Throttle Energy Drink in the winner’s circle.
Prior to this week’s NHRA Arizona Nationals, fans also will have a chance to pick up some Full Throttle and to discuss strategy with the Wally winner during a pre-race meet and greet in the Phoenix area. The night before Massey straps into his Prestone/FRAM dragster to begin the first round of qualifying at Firebird Int’l Raceway, the Don Schumacher Racing driver will make an appearance on behalf of NHRA series sponsor Full Throttle Energy Drink.
On Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m., Massey will sign autographs and meet fans at the Circle K at 995 W. Elliot Road in nearby Tempe. Free samples of Full Throttle Energy Drink will be distributed by brand ambassadors from 5 to 7 p.m.
“It’s awesome to start like this and have the No. 1 spot going into Phoenix,” said Massey, who also set a national speed record in the semifinals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. “This is my life dream, and we’re living it.
“It’ll be great to get to Phoenix early enough to meet with fans at Circle K. At the track we can be pretty busy, so it’s a lot of fun when Full Throttle asks us to visit with our fans. And it’s always fun after winning to hold that Wally and take a big drink of Full Throttle!”
