A California manufacturer of power equipment for the renewable energy industry is announcing they will open a manufacturing facility in Arizona.
Camarillo-based Power-One says it will employ 350 workers at a Phoenix facility that is expected to begin production in October.

PVR to sell Phoenix Mills multiplex for 100 crore

Film exhibitor PVR has put its multiplex at Phoenix Mill mall in central Mumbai on the block with a price tag of 80-100 crore, says a senior executive.
“We plan to sell the property and take it back on lease,” said PVR CFO Nitin Sood. “We aim to close the transaction by this financial year.” PVR Phoenix, the multiplex, has a sprawling 65,000 square feet of area. It is the only property that the theatre chain owns. PVR, India’s third-largest multiplex operator, runs 136 screens in 32 properties.
Ariz. man enters plea in Internet sex assault case

A Phoenix man accused of sexually assaulting his unconscious girlfriend and broadcasting the attack live on the Internet has pleaded guilty to three charges.
Twenty-two-year-old Jonathan Richard Hock pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of attempted sexual assault and one count of voyeurism in Maricopa County Superior Court.
JetBlue starts nonstop Boston-Phoenix flights

JetBlue Airways on Thursday launched its newest route from Logan International Airport with daily nonstop service to Phoenix, the company said.
JetBlue’s new Phoenix route, the 38th nonstop destination from Logan, will be operated aboard Airbus A320 aircrafts which offers travelers premium amenities, all-leather seats with the most legroom in coach of any U.S. airline, 36 channels of TV programming, more than 100 channels of radio, and a free first-checked bag.
Ward quits Melbourne to join Phoenix

Nick Ward has ended his two-and-a-half year stint with Melbourne Victory after the 25-year-old joined Wellington Phoenix.
The former Queens Park Rangers midfielder joined Melbourne in 2007, making 59 appearances for the club in the A-League and the Asian Champions League.

In the world of industrial real estate, few areas have been clobbered harder than Phoenix, which suffered from a rash of overbuilding during the boom years by developers dreaming of the region as a national distribution hub.
But a major lease signed by Amazon.com Inc. at a vacant distribution center offers a glimmer of hope that the space glut is starting to be absorbed.
The online retailer is taking 1.4 million square feet of space at an empty building spanning about a half-mile long. The 10.5-year lease is the largest in Phoenix’s history on a square-footage basis, and it is the first tenant since the building was completed by Tratt Properties and KTR Capital Partners two years ago.
Phoenix Technologies gets richer takeover offer

Phoenix Technologies Ltd., which makes system software for computers and servers, said Monday it has received a $150 million cash bid from an unnamed third party, trumping an earlier offer from private equity firm Marlin Equity Partners.
On Aug. 18, Phoenix agreed to be acquired by Marlin for $139 million, or $3.85 per share. That marked a 27 percent premium to Phoenix’s closing price of $3.02 earlier that day before the announcement. The deal is subject to approval by Phoenix shareholders.
Phoenix-area home prices flat in July

Prices for Phoenix-area homes were flat in July for the first time in three months, and the author of a new report says he expects no price appreciation for the next year.
Preliminary numbers show the median price for a home sold in the metropolitan Phoenix area was $129,900 in July, exactly what it was in July 2009.
